Introduction
Target Support Package™ FM5 lets you deploy production code generated from Real-Time Workshop® Embedded Coder™ directly onto Freescale™ MPC5xx microcontrollers. You can execute code in real time on Freescale MPC5xx microcontrollers for on-target rapid prototyping, production deployment of embedded applications, or validation and performance analysis. You can perform processor-in-the-loop (PIL) testing to validate control system code running on Freescale MPC5xx hardware while the plant model runs in Simulink® on a host PC. The target also lets you export the PIL-tested Simulink® algorithms as C code for integration with legacy software environments.
Target Support Package FM5 software supports a multitarget modeling methodology that makes it easy to perform analysis and to transition between closed-loop simulation, PIL testing, and real-time deployment. Code analysis reports provide RAM/ROM measurements and task execution profile data.
Key Features
- Creates and deploys real-time executables for on-target rapid prototyping and production code generation on the Freescale™ MPC5xx family
- Automatically downloads applications to MPC5xx microcontrollers using RAM-based or flash-based executables
- Includes a multitasking scheduler that supports task preemption and temporary task overruns
- Provides target-specific device driver blocks for digital I/O, pulse width modulation, waveform measurement, serial I/O, analog output, TPU functions, and CAN support
- Validates generated code using processor-in-the-loop testing
- Creates detailed HTML code reports that include RAM, ROM, and task execution data
