Version 2.0.1
Released: 22 Sep 2004Version 2.0.1 includes the latest bug fixes.
Support for Model Reference
Model reference is now supported by the Real-Time (RT) target. Processor in the Loop (PIL) and Algorithm Export (AE) do not
yet support model reference.
Download Control Panel Support for more CAN devices
The Download Control Panel is now integrated with the Vector CAN Driver Configuration Tool and supports all CAN devices supported
by the Vector CAN Driver Library.
QADCE support for more MPC56x processors
There is now support for Enhanced Queued Analog-To-Digital Converter Module-64 (QADCE) for the processors MPC561, MPC562,
MPC563, and MPC564.
Technical Solution Support for External (Off-Chip) Flash Memory
Refer solution note on targeting External Flash memory.
Version 2.0
Released: 02 Jun 2004Serial Download
You can now download executables over CAN or serial.
Support for MPC5xx
The following processor variants are now supported: MPC555, MPC561, MPC562, MPC563, MPC564, MPC565, and MPC566. You can switch
processors using the Target Preferences and Model Resource Configuration settings. See the product release notes for details.
CAN Driver Enhancements
Enhancements to the TouCAN Transmit and TouCAN Receive blocks include the ability to select different modes of operation depending
on the requirements for each message. This capability lets you use more of the available CAN bandwidth and reduces loading
on the MPC5xx microcontroller.
Task Execution Profiling
Execution profiling data can now be recorded, uploaded, and displayed as a MATLAB graphic and as an HTML report. Execution
profiling data can be collected over serial or CAN. See the new demo model mpc555rt_multitasking.
Temporary Task Overruns Now Permitted by the Scheduler
Task overruns in the base rate or one of the subrates no longer force a failure in your system. The overrun behavior is configurable.
See the new demo model mpc555rt_multitasking.
CAN downloads now work with an application running CAN at any of the bit rates supported by the Embedded Target Download tool.
Support for Vision Probe in SingleStep 7.7.3
The MathWorks now supports version 7.7.3 of SingleStep for use with the WindRiver Vision Probe. We continue to support version
7.6.2. Current versions of SingleStep for MPC555 no longer support the Macraigor Systems Wiggler. The standard BDM device
is now the Vision Probe.
Support for CodeWarrior
Version 8.0 of the CodeWarrior toolchain is now supported.
Improved Resource Checking
Resource configuration enhancements help you avoid device driver conflicts – for example, by sending a warning if you choose
the same PWM channel for two different blocks.
New Approach for Multi-target Modeling
A new demo illustrates current best practices in deploying a single model for multiple execution applications, including simulation,
PIL testing, and production deployment. See the demo model mpc555_fuelsys_project for the new approach. Previously, a pass
through mechanism was used.
Version 1.1
Released: 22 Sep 2003Full CodeWarrior Support
Full CodeWarrior V6.5 support for Real Time Target mode, in addition to the existing processor-in the-loop (PIL) target support.
Time Processor Unit (TPU3) Support
Six new Time Processor Unit (TPU3) blocks have been added to support the use of the MPC555 TPU submodules: Digital In, Digital
Out, Fast Quadrature Decode, New Input Capture/Input Transition Counter, Programmable Time Accumulator, Pulse Width Modulation
Out.
Serial I/O Support
Serial transmit and receive blocks.
Automatic Boot Code Loading
Automatic boot code loading with SingleStep or CodeWarrior is accessible from the MATLAB Start menu. You can also upgrade existing boot code via CAN or BDM.
Automatic CAN Download
You can now reach the CAN Download Control Panel using the MATLAB Start menu, or you can open it automatically at the end of the build process.
Target Preferences Dialog
A new Target Preferences dialog is accessible from the Start menu.
Automatic ASAP2 Generation
Automatic set up of correct settings for ASAP2 file generation, without mpc555dk_asap2
More CAN Message IDs in Vector CAN Receive
You can now specify a vector of CAN message IDs in a Vector CAN Receive block, so you can receive messages with different
IDs from the same Vector Receive Block.
Automatic ODBC Data Source Configuration
Configuration of the ODBC Data Source is now automatic; previously you had to configure this manually. The ODBC Data Source
is used for importing data from CANdb.
Version 1.0.1
Released: 05 Aug 2002Version 1.0.1 of The Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 contains minor enhancements and is fully compatible with MathWorks
Release 13 products.
The Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 1.0.1 is the first release of this product as part of a MathWorks release CD. Version
1.0 of this product was initially released in Web-downloadable form after MathWorks Release 12.1 was released, but before
Release 13.
