Profiling the Performance of Embedded Code

Embedded IDE Link VS provides a real-time execution profiler to profile embedded code executing on Analog Devices processors. In typical embedded systems, where 15 to 20 percent of the code accounts for the majority of the processor cycles spent, you can significantly accelerate development and verification by generating code automatically and then optimizing critical code segments with the execution profiler.

The execution profiler collects measurements and statistics as your code executes on the target processor and generates a code execution profile report. By showing the amount of time or clock cycles that the processor spends in each code segment or subsystem and the complete system, the code execution profile report lets you quickly determine which portions of the code are suitable for further optimization.
