New Approaches to Constrained Optimization in MATLAB

When looking for the best solution to a problem, there are often constraints that limit the range of possible solutions. This webinar shows new approaches used by the Genetic Algorithm and Direct Search Toolbox for solving real-world constrained optimization problems. The webinar also highlights other new optimization features, including a direct search algorithm and options for improving optimization speed and accuracy by using genetic and direct-search algorithms in conjunction with traditional gradient-based algorithms in the Optimization Toolbox.

This webinar, to be broadcast live on November 22, 2005, builds on a previously recorded webinar titled Genetic Algorithms and New Optimization Methods in MATLAB, which is now available for viewing. Viewing this webinar may be helpful but is not required; nor is previous knowledge of MATLAB.
