About the Presenters

Jason Bryan is an applications engineer in the Signal Processing and Communications group at MathWorks. He has been with MathWorks since 2004 and primarily supports engineers in the defense industry working on communications applications. He has a B.S. and M.S. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, both in electrical engineering. He specialized in digital signal processing for communications systems and did his thesis work in the area of fault-tolerant digital systems.

Frank Liu is the communications and semiconductor industry manager. In his previous role at MathWorks, he led the signal processing and communications application area in the Product Training group. Prior to joining MathWorks, he worked for General Dynamics and Raytheon developing communication products. Frank holds a master’s in electrical engineering from Cornell University, where he specialized in signal processing and communications systems. He has a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Tufts University.

Idin Motedayen-Aval is an applications engineer in the Signal Processing and Communications group at MathWorks. His interests are in the general area of wireless communications, with past work concentrated on communication theory, coding, and joint data detection/channel estimation techniques. He holds an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. degree in computer systems engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
