Providing an introduction to the general field of estimation theory, the subject matter of this book is divided equally into two parts: parametric estimation, and state estimation. Each lesson includes a summary of what has been taught, theory and examples specific to the topic, and multiple-choice summary questions to test what the reader has learned. Examples are presented throughout the text using MATLAB, the Control System Toolbox, and the Optimization Toolbox. MATLAB M-files that the author has developed and listed in the appendix are also used throughout the text.
