This hands-on, multimedia package provides a motivating introduction to fundamental concepts, of discrete-time systems for beginning engineering students. It is suitable for courses such as introduction to electrical engineering, undergraduate digital signal processing, and electrical engineering for nonmajors. This class-tested learning package can also be used as a self-teaching tool for anyone eager to discover more about DSP applications, multimedia signals, and MATLAB. The package provides unique features such as visual learning demonstrations, MATLAB laboratories, and solved homework problems. (This book is also available in Japanese.)

A set of signal processing labs that show how to synthesize music and then target a TI C6000 DSK is available to supplement this book. These labs require Simulink, Signal Processing Blockset, Real-Time Workshop, Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder, Target Support Package TC6 (for TI's C6000 DSP) and Embedded IDE Link CC (for TI's Code Composer Studio).

Companion software available
Companion Software: The authors have created a CD-ROM, which is bound in the back of the book. It contains demos, labs, exercises, and homework problems with solutions to be used in conjunction with MATLAB.
