Written for students, this book examines the theory and physical sources of noise with examples, excercises, and case studies. This book demonstrates how to characterize random signals and noise, and provides techniques to use when dealing with random waveforms. Topics covered include probability, spread spectrum techniques, the Fourier transform, and Lagrange multipliers.

MATLAB is introduced and used to solve some examples in the book. Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox is also briefly introduced.
