The book uses computer modeling to enhance the reader's understanding of the material presented. Topics covered include vector analysis, electrostatics, magnetostatics, and superconductivity.

Companion software available MATLAB and Symbolic Math Toolbox are used throughout the book to solve numerous application examples. An introduction to MATLAB is also included in the appendix. In addition, a supplemental set of MATLAB M-files is available on a CD bound in the book.
