A Compendium of Partial Differential Equation Models: Method of Lines Analysis with MATLAB

Written for students in the fields of science, engineering, and applied mathematics, this book presents numerical methods and associated MATLAB code for the solution of a spectrum of models expressed as partial differential equations (PDEs). The text presents a detailed presentation of ODE/PDE mathematical models, and includes a line-by-line analysis and solution for computer code associated with model equations. Topics covered include an introduction to the method of lines, Green's function analysis, linear wave equations, and implementation of time-varying boundary conditions.
