Mathematics for Neuroscientists

Written for graduate and postgraduate students in neuroscience and psychology, this book provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts of mathematics, neuroscience, and their combined use. The book alternates between mathematical chapters, introducing important concepts and numerical methods, and neurobiological chapters, applying these concepts and methods to specific topics. Topics include differential equations, Fourier series and transforms, stochastic processes, relating neuronal responses, and psychophysics.

MATLAB is used to solve numerous application examples. In addition, a supplemental set of MATLAB code files is available for download.
