This book presents the fundamental theory of digital image processing and discusses how to apply the theory using MATLAB and the Image Processing Toolbox. Topics covered include intensity transformations, linear and nonlinear spatial filtering, image restoration and registration, color and morphological image processing, wavelets, image data compression, image segmentation, and object recognition. One of the authors, Steven Eddins, is also a developer of the Image Processing Toolbox at The MathWorks. (This book is also available in Korean.)

An introduction to MATLAB and the Image Processing Toolbox is included. In addition, a summary of all MATLAB and Image Processing Toolbox functions used in the book is included in an appendix. The authors have developed a set of MATLAB M-files to accompany the text.
