This book is intended for a two-semester sequence on digital signal processing for seniors and first-year graduate students, and is also suitable for self-study by practicing engineers or scientists. It introduces the tools used in the analysis and design of discrete-time systems for signal processing. The book emphasizes the mastery of concepts and tools rather than mathematical rigor, and develops comprehensive coverage of several key topics including digital filter structures, analysis of finite word-length effects, and multirate DSP.

The text includes more than 160 programs and 150 exercises that use MATLAB. The Signal Processing Toolbox and the Filter Design Toolbox are also introduced and used to solve example problems.

Companion software available
Companion Software: A set of MATLAB M-files is included on a CD bound in the book. (The Signal Processing and Filter Design Toolboxes are required.)
