Customizing Cluster Setup Instructions

Version 2.0 (Web release) on top of R14SP3

Tell us about your computing cluster so we can give you the appropriate set of instructions. We strongly recommend that you involve your system administrator in filling out this form and in the installation of MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine.

Tell us about your computing cluster

*Platform(s) of the cluster computers

*Platform(s) of your MATLAB end users

*Installation Location

Requires you to install only once, and then map the installation directory to all of your nodes. Because the products will run over the network, this option increases network overhead.

Requires you to install individually on each node. This option involves no additional network overhead.

*Scheduler

The MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine requires a scheduler to queue and manage jobs submitted to the cluster. You can either use the Job Manager (scheduler included with MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine), or integrate with third-party schedulers.

*Licensing

Choose this option to use a separate license manager for MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine. This license manager would most likely be installed on the head node so that individual nodes can access it for a license. Use this option if you do not currently run FLEXlm or your cluster nodes can not access your network license manager.

Choose this option if you already have a FLEXlm server running on your network that you want to use for the engine. Note: Cluster computers must be able to contact your shared license manager over the network.
