Installing and Configuring Distributed Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine (R2006a)

Distributed Computing with MATLAB

Interaction between the Distributed Computing productsDistributed computing with MATLAB requires two products:

  • Distributed Computing Toolbox should be installed on the computer where you write your applications.
  • MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine should be installed on each computer of the cluster that performs the computation.

Read the system requirements for these products before proceeding.

Installing Version 2.0.1 (R2006a)

Option 1: Set up a cluster for use with Distributed Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine.

Option 2: Set up one machine to try Distributed Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Distributed Computing Engine. This will not result in performance improvements, but it will give you a sense of how to write distributed applications.
