Why does the installer hang after entering in my PLP on my Windows machine?

After I enter in my PLP, I click 'Next', but nothing happens. The installer just sits there and does not respond.

If the "Next" button is unresponsive:
For Windows 7:
In order to run the Installer, your Windows Theme must always be set to Windows Classic Theme.
1. Right click on the desktop and select "Personalize"
2. Select the "Theme" option.
3. Under the Theme select "Windows Classic Theme" and press OK.
For Windows 8 or newer:
To resolve this issue, you will need to disable any special themes and run the installer in compatibility mode for Windows 2000:
1. Exit the installer
2. Navigate to the display properties on your computer
3. Disable any special themes you may have enabled
If you're installing from a CD:
Double click on "My Computer"
Right click on the CD icon and select "explore"
Right click on "setup.exe" and select "properties"
In the box that appears, move to the "compatibility" tab
(left) Click on the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
In the dropdown menu, select "Windows 2000"
Click "apply" than "ok"
Double click on "setup.exe". The installer should run as normal.
If you're installing from downloads:
Move into the directory where your downloaded install files are located.
Right click on "setup.exe" and select "properties"
In the box that appears, move to the "compatibility" tab
(left) Click on the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
In the dropdown menu, select "Windows 2000"
Click "apply" than "ok"
Double click on "setup.exe".
If the "Next" button is responsive:
The installer is encountering an error at this point, however, it is not displaying a dialog box confirming this. The solution is to use the -debug flag with the setup.exe available on the CD to resolve this issue:
setup.exe -debug 2 -of path_to_log_file to create an installation log.
If you are still unable to complete the installation, you can complete the installation with the silent installer, bypassing all interactivity of the installer GUI. For instructions on running the silent installer, visit the following URL:
