Why do I receive errors about a missing libf77compat.so.1 file when starting MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) on a Solaris 9 machine?

1 view (last 30 days)
When I try to startup MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) on my Solaris 9 machine I receive the following error message:
Error Messages: ld.so.1: /opt/matlab/R14/Solaris/bin/sol2/MATLAB: fatal: libf77compat.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
Note that MATLAB R14SP1 was installed using downloads with no error message.

This problem has been fixed in MATLAB 7.0.4 (R14SP2). If you are using a previous version, please upgrade to this version.
