Why do I get a segmentation fault when I try to install on a Solaris machine?
Problem Description:
Why do I get a segmentation fault when I try to install MATLAB 5.3.1 on a Solaris machine?
I get this whether I do an xsetup or a text-setup.
Solution:This is a bug in the MATLAB 5.3.1 Installer. It occurs when you have a corrupt TMW_Archive line. When the installer goes to the error-table, it hits the bug and gives the segmentation fault. |
