Subject:
Why does MATLAB give xsetup errors during installation on Linux?
Problem Description:
I am running an installation on a Linux machine without the xserver binaries/libraries and receive an xsetup error, even during a text install (-t).
The error message is similar to "error while loading shared libraries: libXt.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Solution:Although it is not required to have XServer be running on the machine, our installer relies on XServer libraries located in /etc/X11/lib (or /etc/X11/lib64). Once XServer is installed, the installer should run without giving this error. |
