How do I set up the Distributed Computing Toolbox 2.0 (R14SP3+) to work with various schedulers?

Problem Description:

I would like to know how to set up the DCT for my scheduler, but the examples are not thorough enough for the varied options presented by different schedulers. I would like to know how the two pieces work together.
