Instrument Control Toolbox™ 2.6
Supported Hardware - UDP
MATLAB and Simulink support UDP communication through the Instrument Control Toolbox.
Communicating with Applications using UDP
MATLAB can communicate with remote applications not developed in MATLAB using UDP functionality provided by this toolbox.
Simulink can communicate with remote applications using Simulink blocks provided by the toolbox. These blocks enable you to query an application using UDP to incorporate live data into your model, and for sending live data from your Simulink model to an application using UDP.
Communicating with Instruments using UDP
MATLAB is an ideal software environment for communicating with instruments using the UDP protocol. Instrument Control Toolbox enables MATLAB to control, configure, and transfer data with instrumentation. Once data is in MATLAB, you can analyze and visualize that data using interactive tools and command-line functions for data analysis tasks such as signal processing, statistical analysis, digital filtering, curve fitting, and nonlinear optimization. Data acquisition and analysis work can also be incorporated into GUI-based applications.
Simulink can communicate with instruments using Simulink blocks provided by the Instrument Control Toolbox. These blocks enable you to query an instrument using UDP to incorporate live data into your model, and for sending live data from your Simulink model to an instrument using UDP.
Information on using Instrument Control Toolbox with instruments from Agilent, Anritsu, LeCroy, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, and other manufacturers is available.
