MATLAB Seminars at UIC
Overview
Please join us for this complementary MATLAB technical seminars presented by a MathWorks Customer Success Engineer!
Are you new to using MATLAB? Or do you want to hear the latest features? Learn how MATLAB can be used to visualize and analyze data, perform numerical computations, and develop algorithms.
Curious about how to enhance student engagement and streamline your teaching with MathWorks tools? Join our seminar to learn how to utilize MATLAB features to empower you to accelerate teaching in science and engineering.
Feel free to join as many sessions as you would like. The events will be held in-person.
Data Analysis and Visualization in MATLAB
Do you find analyzing your data to be a painful process of cleansing and selecting data, running functions that don’t give you any indication of the output, and force you to keep repeating the same grinding process if you have to do it over again?
Learn how MATLAB can be used to visualize and analyze data, perform numerical computations, and develop algorithms. Through live demonstrations and examples, you will see how MATLAB can help you become more effective in your coursework as well as in research. This session is targeted at students, faculty, and researchers who are new to MATLAB. However, experienced MATLAB users may also benefit from the session, as the MathWorks engineer will be covering some tips and tricks from the latest release of MATLAB.
Highlights:
- Accessing data from various sources (files, other software, hardware, etc.)
- Using interactive tools for iterative exploration, design, and problem-solving
- Automating and capturing your work in easy-to-write scripts and programs
- Sharing your results with others by automatically creating reports
Teaching with MATLAB
Learn about how to engage students and scale your instruction with standalone and cloud-based tools from MathWorks. Topics covered in Teaching with MATLAB include creating interactive scripts, using MATLAB Drive to share content, helping students learn the basics of using MATLAB, and creating and automatically grading MATLAB coding assignments with MATLAB Grader. Because you already have access to the tools covered in this session, you’ll be able to immediately apply what you learn in your classroom, giving students the experience they need with software commonly used in research and industry.
Highlights:
- Expanding accessibility of MATLAB on computers, the cloud, and mobile devices
- Enhance instruction through interactive scripts and applications, as well as packaged self-paced online courses
- Speeding up the process of assessing students
- Leveraging the various resources available to help you get the most out of MATLAB
Who Should Attend
Faculty, staff, researchers, and students are welcome!
