Sameer Muckatira, MathWorks

Sameer Muckatira helps automotive engineers adopt Simulink and Model-Based Design. His focus is on the practical use of cloud technologies for automotive development, with an emphasis on deploying Simulink in the cloud, linking simulation studies with big data, and scaling up testing and code generation through continuous integration. He joined MathWorks in 2019, bringing real-world automotive experience from 3 years as a control systems lead for Cummins diesel engines. Sameer has an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois.

Pourash Patel, MathWorks

Pourash is a senior application engineer focused on model-based design workflow in the medical device industry. He supports the entire V software development workflow, but his primary focus is on model-based systems engineering and V&V (verification and validation). Prior to MathWorks, Pourash worked in the power tool and automotive industry, where he supported controls, systems, and test organizations. Pourash has 13+ years of experience using MathWorks tool suites. Pourash received an M.S. + M.Eng in electrical engineering from Western University (Ontario), where he specialized in embedded controls.

Oscar Molina Ortiz, MathWorks

Oscar is part of the Application Engineering Team in Plano, TX. He has a solid background in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), and numerical simulation in high-performance computing (HPC) environments. Oscar has extensive experience with developing performant code in MATLAB, C/C++, and Python, with a focus on data structures, algorithms, runtime/space complexity analysis, parallel computing algorithms, and optimization libraries for massively parallelizable models. Oscar holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and master’s and PhD degrees in Petroleum Engineering.

Garima Sharma, MathWorks

As an application engineer, Garima consults with customers to help them incorporate their defined needs to create tailor-made solutions to enhance their workflow. Her primary competencies are biomedical signal processing, traditional machine learning, and modern deep learning algorithms. She has experience in working with different signal modalities such as audio, image, and oscillation signals. Before joining MathWorks, Garima was pursuing her Doctoral degree in electrical and computer engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University. 

Akhilesh Mishra, MathWorks

Akhilesh Mishra is a senior application engineer at MathWorks. He specializes in signal/data processing, artificial intelligence, and GPU computing workflows. He has been with MathWorks since 2016. He was also the signal processing lead in a group at the University of Kansas working on radar and sonar systems for sounding the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica to study global sea-level rise. Akhilesh holds an M.S. degree from the University of Kansas.

Yifeng Tang, MathWorks

Yifeng Tang is a senior application engineer at MathWorks. He supports MATLAB and Simulink for multi-domain physical modeling and specializes in the modeling and simulation of mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems, such as hydraulic systems, thermal management systems, and fuel cells. Prior to joining MathWorks, he worked for Ford Motor Company in the Powertrain Research Department. Yifeng earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a B.S.E. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Tianyi Zhu, MathWorks

Tianyi Zhu is a product marketing manager at MathWorks focused on Simulink and Model-Based Design. He holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both from Carnegie Mellon University.
