About the Presenters

Dr. Visa Suomi is the Medical Devices Industry Manager for the EMEA region at MathWorks. He has over 10 years of international experience in the life sciences and healthcare sector with an interdisciplinary background from the medical technology development, regulations and clinical validation. He obtained his doctorate degree (DPhil) from the University of Oxford, UK, with the focus on translating academic and clinical research into commercial applications.

Magnus Nord is a principal application engineer at MathWorks. Before MathWorks, he worked in the medical device industry for 25 years as control engineer, systems engineer, and project manager. After joining MathWorks in 2019, he focuses on supporting customers in the medical device industry with Model-Based Design adoption. He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Linköping University, specializing in control theory and applied mathematics.
