Model-Based Design for Airworthiness Security Compliance

Overview

In this webinar you will learn about the state of state-of-the-art methods for the mitigation of security threats and how you can leverage Model-Based Design to build and maintain secure products.

We will also give an overview of the DO-326A and DO-356 standards, how they do relate to the other aeronautical standards (I.e. ARP 4754A and ARP 4761) how Model Based Design can help to achieve compliance to the standard´s objectives.

Highlights

  • How to find common security flaws in early design stages,
  • How to follow secure coding & modeling guidelines,
  • How to assess cyberattacks (attack simulation, impact and taint analysis),
  • How to implement intrusion detection systems and continuous monitoring,
  • How to integrate analysis and simulation through model-based design.

About the Presenters

Marco Bimbi holds a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa in control theory and flight mechanics. Before joining The MathWorks, he has worked for 10+ years in aerospace as well as rails industries such as Rolls-Royce, Lilium and Deutsche Bahn focusing on Systems Engineering workflows for safety critical applications. During his career he held various roles such as Control Systems Architect, Model Based Systems Engineering Specialist and Requirements Manager. At MathWorks he focuses on Model Based Design Systems Engineering workflows for safety critical applications.

Aharon David is a 40+ year aerospace system-engineering, avionics and cybersecurity expert. Holding a B.Sc.Ae. from the Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Tel Aviv University, Mr. David has focused on aerospace avionics, software, safety, systems, hardware and cybersecurity development – Defense and Civilian, as well as management of development organizations, a prominent member of all aviation-cybersecurity standard-making bodies worldwide, Mr. David created AFuzion’s DO-326 line, and personally delivers AFuzion’s cybersecurity classes, as well as ARP4754/4761, DO-178 & DO-254 classes. Mr. David is a prominent member of all aerospace standard-developing organizations, including all aviation-cybersecurity, and provides all of the world conferences’ DO-326 training, including SAE’s designated instructor of DO-326 for aviation cybersecurity, as well as a designated instructor of ARP4754 and ARP4761, which he takes part in developing.
