To help transition to an online mode of instruction, MathWorks is hosting a webinar on Experiential Learning in Mathematics using MATLAB.

  • Visualization of First year engineering mathematics concepts for better understanding
  • Introducing MATLAB for mathematical problem solving e.g. numerical integration, Laplace transforms, linear algebra
  • Linking mathematical concepts to engineering problems via case studies

Who should attend?

This webinar is aimed at Professors, PhD students & Post-Docs who are interested in Online Teaching.

About the Presenters

Jennifer J. Gago and Dr.-Ing. Marco Rossi are members of the Academic Customer Success team at MathWorks, where they help faculty members with MATLAB and Simulink in their teaching and research.

Marco Rossi received his PhD from Technische Universität Dresden in Mechanical Engineering, He holds a BSc in Aerospace Engineering and a MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Sapienza, Università di Roma. He works with distributors and universities within the EMEA territories with the aim of fostering and accelerating the pace of engineering in teaching and research. He has published several articles in literature about smart materials. His academic background focused on theoretical modelling and numerical simulation (finite element framework) of soft materials, e.g. smart polymers and gels.

Jennifer J. Gago received her MSc in Robotics and Automation and her BEng in Industrial Technologies Engineering from University Carlos III of Madrid, Edinburgh Napier University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. She works with universities across Spain to introduce Computational Thinking and Model-Based Design into teaching and research. She has published several research articles on Neural Networks and Sign Language representation by Humanoid Robots. She has previously worked in academia as well as industry, both in the R&D Department, including also an internship in the field of X-Ray mobile equipment and two years as a MATLAB Student Ambassador.
