Vehicle Dynamics Simulation and Visualization for Student Competitions

Overview

In this webinar, we will provide an overview of some of the new and advanced vehicle dynamics models for student competitions. We will start the session with an introduction to Simscape longitudinal motion model followed by a suspension system example. Next, we will cover the steps involved in developing a Formula Student multibody vehicle model. Finally, we will explore a new skidpad test course developed using Vehicle Dynamics Blockset.

Highlights

  • Model suspension system
  • Simulate Formula Student multibody vehicle
  • Generate Skidpad test course

About the Presenters

Nobu Iijima joined MathWorks in 2019 on the Student Competition team. He primarily supports automotive and robotics student competitions in Japan. Nobu holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.

Veer Alakshendra is a Senior Team Lead at MathWorks. He focuses on working with student teams in the adoption of MATLAB and Simulink in automotive and robotics competitions. While pursuing his Ph.D. from VNIT Nagpur in robotics, he primarily focused on kinematics, dynamics, control design, vibration, and optimization.
