What’s New in MATLAB for Teaching Computational Thinking

Overview

Most professors had to transition to distance learning very quickly and many will incorporate online teaching in their courses moving forward. Having no access to computer labs, no physical interaction and limited feedback for students can lead to all sorts of challenges.

About the Presenter

Dr. Sheila Scialanga and Carlos Sanchis are members of the Academic Customer Success team at MathWorks, where they help faculty members with MATLAB and Simulink in their teaching and research.

Sheila earned a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow where her research involved control of linear discrete-time interconnected systems with constraints. She also holds a BSc in Mathematics and MSc in Applied Mathematics from Sapienza, Università di Roma.

Carlos holds master's degrees in Industrial Engineering (from the Technical University of Valencia) and Project Management (La Salle Business Engineering School). Before joining MathWorks, he worked on power grid modelling, electronics and data analytics in industrial, R&D and academic positions.
