C++ Software Engineer

Job Summary

Come join a small, dynamic team developing low-level platform-specific code in C++, and work with other development teams responsible for MathWorks’ 100+ products to develop innovative solutions. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of pluggable, declarative, service-based architectures. This role requires an ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries.


  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing C++ software frameworks and foundation services that will be used in MATLAB, Simulink and MathWorks’ 100+ products.
  • Work collaboratively with with other teams to create requirements, design specifications and participate in code reviews
  • Identify ways to improve platform integration for the desktop, mobile, and cloud
  • Share your platform expertise with other teams through documentation, training, and support

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.
  • Experience with C++
  • Experience with object oriented design

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience developing commercial software
  • Experience with native platform IDEs (Visual Studio or Xcode)
  • Desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Resourceful and independent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of macOS, Windows or Linux platforms and APIs a plus
  • Familiarity with concurrent programming, threading, and synchronization a plus
  • Familiarity with SOLID architecture a plus
