Test & Measurement Software Engineer in Test Intern

Job Summary

Do you enjoy working with cutting edge technology and solving challenging hardware and software problems? If so, consider a Software Engineer in Test intern position with the Test & Measurement team at MathWorks. Qualify a product that connects MATLAB, our world class analysis and visualization platform, and Simulink, our design and modeling environment. As a member of this development team, you will be responsible for testing products with particular focus on Instrument Control Toolbox. You will get to work on industry standard communication protocols like tcpip, udp, gpib, visa etc.

In this role, you will work with the development and quality engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain automated tests and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidates are team players demonstrating organization, an eye for detail, strong communication skills and a commitment to getting things done.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in design and code reviews
  • Writing test strategies and procedures
  • Designing test infrastructures
  • Creating and executing automated test suites
  • Executing non-functional testing such as performance, memory and security testing
  • Identifying and reporting product defects using our bug tracking system
  • Hardware lab configuration, testing and maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's level degree in a technical discipline.

Additional Qualifications

  • BS with 3 plus years of experience or MS; in Engineering, Computer Science, or related area
  • Programming experience in MATLAB, object oriented programming
  • Knowledge of network protocols like tcpip, udp is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
