- Go to the MathWorks License Center.
- Select the license you wish to add an expiration date to.
- Click the "Install and Activate" tab.
- Above the "Advanced Options" button, click the current expiration date. If no expiration date is currently set, this will read "Not set."
- In the pop-up, choose a new date. To unset the expiration date entirely, clear the box and click save.

How can I set an expiration date for my license file? Can this date be different from the expiration date of the license itself?

License administrators can manually specify an expiration date for MATLAB license files. Certain licenses such as Classroom licenses cannot have manual expiration dates added. On term licenses, this expiration date must be earlier than the expiration date for the license itself. To set an expiration date for new activations:

Are you an administrator for your license? If you're not, I think you will not be allowed to change the expiration date.

I have a similar problem, but my problem is that, aparently, expiration date is not being updated and it takes an expired one. How can I update to the new one?
