Tracking objects in video sequences (video)

Hi please help me. I saw the on mathworks "object recognition using color" and I would need to modify it. I need to recognize objects using geometric properties or edge recognition. It must be particle filter. I am a beginner in MATLAB and I do not know how to do. Thanks for helping
