Not able to complete the booting progress of Beagleboard-xM using the mathworks beagleboard support package for a later Simulink use?

Hi,
I'm following the recommended steps on this page: http://www.mathworks.com/hardware-support/beagleboard.html
In the step 11 of Replace Firmware on BeagleBoard Hardware of configuration, I was not able to get passed through this step. I am using the Beagleboard-xM versionn, and I did follow the "press and release the RESET button" step. After clicking the 'Next' to continue, the boot progress was never able to get pass 7 of 9. After 10-30 minutes, it would show an error: reset board message, which looks something like below:
Timed out while waiting for the board, Check that:
1. Board is powered on
2. Serial cable is connected
3. Correct serial port is selected
4. Memory card is fully inserted
The weird thing is that I have double checked all of the above, and the boot progress can never get pass 7 of 9. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Please help. This is the problem I am having as originally asked by a Justin.
Thank you
