how to use neural networks in image processing?

hi i'm doing my project in human tracking using artificial neural networks.i'm new to matlab. please tell me procedure steps to achieve my project. My matlab version is R2012b. thank you

Dear Greg Heath, my question is how to locate particular person in group image in artificial neural network. For that I've taken input from group image and target from individual image, but problem is mapping. please give me the answer.
