Re-activating Matlab 2010a student version with a different email address

I am trying to re-activate my Matlab student version and do not know the email address that was previosly used. Is there anyway to change the email address to my current one so i can continue using Matlab?

THIS IS THE ERROR I RECIEVE:

Error -2,004: The serial number that you have entered has already been activated with a different email address. Please verify that you are using the correct email address and serial number. If this error persists, contact your local support office at www.mathworks.com/ contact_us.

2 1/2 years later I have this same question myself. Would someone at Mathworks be so kind as to answer it? Even an answer I don't like ("it cannot be done") is better than no answer.

Oh, by the way, if it cannot be done, I still have my old Post Versalog Slide rules. Both a 10 inch and a 5 inch pocket version (that I used to carry in a pocket protector back in my IIT days). Not only that, I've purchased a few Pickets on Ebay since then (Even though an old professor of mine once told me the Picket was "scrap" along side the Versalog. IIT bias! I had R. A. BUDENHOLZER for a professor too, for Thermo, and he knew all there was to know about super heated steam, but he wasn't the only one who knew how to lay out a slide rule! Picket was a Chicago Company also! on Wabash Avenue just under the L tracks! They just weren't Tech Hawks). In any case, with multiple slide rules (including a few old K & E s and Dietzigens), I can now do "multiprocessing" if Mathworks won't transfer my 2010a license. Imagine that: an FFT done on 8 or even 16 (32? 64? 128? 1024?) slide rules in parallel. An idea that just might sell in Hollywood! Revenge of the Slide Rules. Have Stephen Hawking star in it! A cast of 1000s slide-rule toting high tech wizards! Augmented by an actual working Univac 1108 running EXEX 8 with a Fortran V compiler! Where is Cecil B DeMille now, when we really need him? (PSSS Anyone got an old cylindrical device we can borrow for the movie? We'll have Hawking operating that one. ;)

If you don't want to sell me a new license, I still have an old 90s version that runs on XP. It's been 2 1/2 years since the question was originally posed, and you haven't answer. Am I supposed to wait another 2 1/2 years?

The people who answer questions here in the forum are volunteers. Of the regular volunteers, very few of us have access to student licenses, as those are only available to people enrolled as students in a degree-granting accredited educational institution, and only for the time during which they are so enrolled. So we just don't know, because we do not have access to those kinds of licenses ourselves, and few of the regular volunteers work for Mathworks. In the several years that this facility has existed, there has only been one semi-regular volunteer here who has indicated that they have any access to the Mathworks licensing database at all (and that appears to be read-only access.)

We can only answer to what we know, and what we know is that license questions should be referred to Mathworks license and installation support.

I have encountered extremely few people who would have had MATLAB licenses in the 90s but are currently registered as students eligible for use of the student license. It is not impossible, as I know that sometimes adults choose to take Continuing Education courses many years after they were originally students, but it is rather uncommon. We have somewhat more experience with people thinking that Student licenses can be used when the person is not a student.
