- Do you need to specify steer angle at each element, or you will be fine with a scalar steering angle plus a way to specify the quantization of phase shifter, say 3-bit or 4-bit?
- Do you ever need to point different subarrays to separate directions?
Phased Array Toolbox: How to add phase, amp & quant errors to Array of Subarrays?

I have Vers 2014b and am modeling a Linear Array of Subarrays with phase steering and amp tapering at the element level, and delay steering at the array level using the “Subarrays in Phased Array Antennas” example. I’m able to model the ideal tapered array and see Wideband grating lobes. I can also see how to add errors and quantization effects to the delay steering using the ‘weights’ property. But, I don’t see a way to perturb or quantize the element phase since the ‘SteerAngle’ property in the PlotResponse Method of the PartitionedArray Object only accepts a scalar angle. I also reviewed the “Modeling Perturbations and Element Failures…” Example, but it doesn’t address Subarrays. I’m trying to minimize expensive delay bits at the Array level so want to see the effect of delay quantization and random errors on Sidelobes.

I do not think this feature is available in the product yet, but I have some follow-up questions:
Let me know.
Thanks, Sandip
