Trouble importing Solidworks part into Simscape Multibody

4 views (last 30 days)
I am using the mathworks template of a quadcopter in Simscape Multibody and wanted to add a wing and two additional motor propeller combos to the assembly and simulation. My first issue is importing the wing I've designed in Solidworks. I've tried saving it as an xml file, but Matlab says it's the wrong kind of xml file, despite that being my only option is Solidworks. How can I import my part file and what resources could help me with attaching the wing to the existing body?

To import an assembly from SolidWorks, you need to export it using Simscape Multibody Link. This will export the XML file with a structure that the Simscape Multibody importer can parse and convert into a dynamic simulation model.
