I really appreciate, that you ask about the formatting! Thousands of users do not care about this and their questions are not readable. You will find hundreds of threads in which the formatting is explained. In addition there are tutorials about this. Use the search function to find them.

"...Thousands of users do not care about this..."
I think it's no so much they don't care as they simply don't take the time and (imo rightly) expect a coding forum when they type or paste code for the input tool to not screw up the formatting they already had.
I've pointed out I don't know how many times that the default of using a word-wrapping, line-ignoring text prose tool for a coding forum is simply wrongheaded approach and is the underlying culprit, not the infrequent, casual or first-time user.

1) A) Highlight the code and press the {}Code button, or
B) insert 2 blank spaces at beginning of line.
If you do A) you'll observe it does B).
2) Dunno about that, I don't want notifications so never looked at options...

  1. In MATLAB editor, type control-a, control-i to fix your code's indenting. Then copy it, and paste into the question box here. Highlight your code and click the {}Code icon and it should look correct in the preview window below your edit field.
  2. When you submit the question, at the bottom of the form there is a checkbox that says "Email me when answers are added to this question". Just don't uncheck it and you should be notified.

I can't help you then - that's a Mathworks issue.
