Hi,
I am a user of MATLAB R_2014A and use Symbolic Maths Toolkit. I recently downloaded Maple 18 but unfortunately for reasons had to uninstall it (my institution license key didn't work). Unfortunately the Symbolic Maths Toolkit now doesn't work. I get ''Undefined function 'syms' for input arguments of type 'char''' errors.
If anyone could help that would be great!
Thanks
Jack

Jack - what do you see if you type ver in the Command Window? Do you see your version of MATLAB along with the Symbolic Math Toolbox? What about if you type
which -all sums
in the Command Window - what do you see then?

I'd just download a clean copy of that release, with the proper tools chosen.
