Can the mapping toolbox generate equirectangular EPSG 4326 maps, for Google Earth ovleralays?

Hi, I've been struggling to overlay a map in Google Earth. Through my research, I continue to see equirectangular EPSG 4326 as the appropriate mapping format, yet I cannot seem to identify a matlab command that can generate such a format. Anyone have experience with this??

Attached, i've included two maps that I've tried to overlay. Neither have worked.

Any and all help/guidance is welcome!!! Thank you in advance, Shaun
