i am working on breaking of image into parts in matlab.. when sub parts of images came to me then there are some black(0 vales) matrices(3*3,or 5*5).i need help how i can avoid these sub-images (or how to use other sub-image excepts these)

if nnz(TheSubmatrix) == 0
return; %or whatever to avoid doing processing
end
