Is it possible to change the current folder window's default view settings in R2015a?

I'm running MATLAB R2015a on Ubuntu 14.04 and I noticed that one of the new features in Matlab is to display not only the files/folders in the current working directory, but additional information including their size, type, date modified, and a description. While this information is nice, it makes the window very cluttered, and I typically end up right-clicking several of the columns to un-check and remove them. Is there a way to set my viewing preferences as the default, so I don't have to do this every time I start Matlab?

I understand that you wish to save the preferences(Uncheck Size,Date Modified,Type, Description) such that you need not do it each time you launch MATLAB.
You just have to uncheck all the options once and MATLAB will save these preferences. The next time you launch MATLAB you will only see Name in the Current Folder.
If you wish to have the Default Settings, Please Navigate to Home->Preferences->Current Folder and then click on Restore Default Settings and Restart MATLAB.

This is correct. Turns out I was actually facing a corrupted prefrences file, which was making this actually not work. Here's the link to how I fixed it, if this happens to anyone else: Regenerate Matlab Preferences.
