I'm trying to calculate the left and right eigenvectors and eigenvalues of matrix. I use the syntax: [REvec,DD,LEvec] = eig(J); Which is correct according to the documentation. But I get the error: "Error using eig. Too many output arguments." My version is R2012b Any help?

According to WHAT documentation? I don't think that syntax was available in R1012b.

The online documentation is for the most recent release and may include functions or functionality not present in your release. [Older documentation is also available online, but by default when you go to Documentation on the Support section of the website you see the current release's doc.]
EIG was enhanced to return left eigenvectors in release R2014a, as you can see by checking the Release Notes (item 3 in the Mathematics section.)
