Where are the add ons that were installed with matlab? I don't see them on the apps tab.

Hello I purchased Econometrics, traders, optimization. etc 8 add ons, but i don't see there icon on the app tab. I can't find the add on files when i searech the matlab foler in c:\. Please help!

Those are not "apps" or "add on", those are Toolboxes. Some of them might have nice graphical interfaces for some tasks, but most will not.

You can use the command

ver

to find out what you have installed.

That's not always true. I've bought the Datafeed Toolbox and the Neural Network Toolbox. The first I can see in the "add-on"-Tab, and in the output of 'ver'. The other I can't see anywhere.

Didn't get help from the support, maybe you have another solution or hint for us?

If ver is not showing the Neural Network Toolbox then you do not have it installed for that release of MATLAB, at least not for that user. It might be installed for a different release, or it might be installed for a different user (depending how the installation was done, it can be done for individual users instead of for all users.)

If it were a license difficulty instead of an installation difficulty, then you would be able to see the information in ver() but would not be able to use the toolbox.

I would suggest that you first try

rehash toolboxcache

If that is not sufficient, then I suggest you

ls( fullfile(matlabroot, 'toolbox') )

and look for a directory named nnet . If that directory is not there then the toolbox is not installed for the MATLAB you are using. toolboxdir('nnet') should also give you that same location.

Some Neural Net items should show up in the App section, under "Mathematics, Statistics, and Optimization"

THank you for your help! Unfortunately I still have the problem.

To answer some of your assumtions:

- I have installed it several times, downloaded the installation files, tried to download an install Matlab completely or only the toolbox. Nothing works.

- Installation-routines work properly, no errors, at the end the invitation to aktivate the toolbox. Everything looks normal.

- I only have one release, the newest. Just bought it, there are no older versions, I never used matlab before

- I'm the only user, I have only one notebook, I'm the only Windows-user on this pc.

- Wenn I was asked, I entered my windows-user name. This worked correctly for the Datafeed Toolbox, not for nnet.

- On the mathworks-website, I can see the licenses I bought correctly. There I can aganin download the installation-kit for nnet.

- I don't see the nnet with 'ver'

- 'rehash toolboxcache' had no effect

- 'ls( fullfile(matlabroot, 'toolbox') )' gives datafeed, ddux, glee, hdlcoder, local, matlab, shared, simulink - nnet is missing

- toolboxdir('nnet') gives an error;

You write, in this case, nnet is not installed. But what else can I do, apart from downloading the installation kit, run it an aktiviate the toolbox?

Finally I found the reason: The install routine didn't change the link in the icon of Matlab. The installation kit installed not only the toolbox, but also a new version of Matlab, version 2016b. But the link remained to the program folder of 2016a - where the toolbox wasn't installed. I should have knowen, that Matlab doesn't overwrite older versions, but installs independent and standalone executable program versions. Problem solved. I just have to change the link in the icon to the new program version.

@Evan Fabri: The toolboxes have not been installed properly. The OP confused toolboxs with apps and did not explain the details. You cannot blame Matlab for installation error made by the user.

I can and do. the interface design is lacking, and it crashes several times a day, in addition to the ridiculous add-on manager.
