Vex Companion not working

Good Evening! I met with Jacob Feldbauer this weekend at our Mall Day for Best Robotics. He had me download the Vex Companion and trained us in Simulink on how to program our robot. After downloading the Vex companion however... It does nothing. It does not have example programs and does not even allow you to get to the point of programming. Jacob could not figure out why my computer was acting that way was curious if there were any modifications to the Vex Companion app. If you could contact me about fixing this issue, that would be greatly appreciated.
