Undefined function or variable for files saved on desktop

Hi everyone,

Long long time Matlab user here. I've been having a weird problem since Friday. I am unable to execute any script or function that are saved on desktop. Getting "undefined function or variable... " error. Things I've tried with no luck are: 1) Current working directory desktop, .m files not executing. 2) Added desktop to matlab path, switched to another directory and called function from there. no luck. 3) Restarted computer and matlab several times but problem still going on.

However, all other .m files saved in other directories working fine. For short term solution I moved the files I need from desktop to another directory and working from there but I'd like to resolve this issue. Any help is appreciated.

What does running the path command show? Does it show that a path to the desktop is within the search path?
