Hello I have a temperature series that consists of 1066 data points which were collected every 2 hours for 3 mounths. I am trying to determine whether there is cyclic behavior on this dataset. I am using fft on matlab( fft is new concept to me). There is something wrong. I get a blank graph with two lines that coincide with axes and when I use fftshift I have a peak at zero and nothing around! Thank you in advance for your help.

Without your data and code, it is not possible to determine what the problem is.
The R2015a documentation for fft is a bit more informative than the current documentation.
