Is there a way to communicate with an aerotech soloist cp through matlab 2015 without having to pay the $500 interface fee?

I am trying to create an automated data recording system that uses Matlab to control one piece of equipment and an aerotech soloist cp for the other. I need a way to connect these two components together without blowing $500 if possible.

Which software option do you have at the moment? Do you have a "-MACHINE" license that has the .NET framework? Do I understand correctly you are trying to avoid having to pay for their "-MATLAB" option?
