How to open an excel file in reuse mode from matlab

I want to open a excel file that resides on server. it works very well with fullfile and winopen commands. But once file has been opened no one else can edit that file on another PC. So please let me know how to open a copy of original file on my PC for watching purpose only. So that the other user can edit actual file.
