Although Li-Fi is a new term but it falls under the networking aspects of Optical Visible Light (VLC) Communications. However, li-fi deals with networking protocols, in particual Hand-over. Therefore you may not need to develop devices or components but will consider inter-connecting and controlling networking nodes.
There will be some challenges if you want to implement a complete Li-Fi network. For Matlab you require to develop various files yourself dealing with properties of light (reflection, refraction, difraction etc). There are some individual who have developed these files for their work and shared in the File Exchage. Search under VLC topic. Also search IEEE articles where many idividuals have published some useful models based on Matlab. A helping book "Principles of LED Light Communications: Towards Networked Li-Fi" By Svilen Dimitrov, Harald Haas. Visit Google and/or MathWorks for Visible Light Communication (VLC) and Optical Wireless Communication (OWC). One critical point to understand that VLC or OWC can be point-to-point where Li-Fi is networking aspect that deals with Multi-points. If you want to develop a complete network then there you require a Network Controller Unit (i.e. zone controller) that will handover your signal from one to another (similar like in Mobile Towers). Explore Optical Wireless Fundamentals for Matalb Optical Wireless Communications System and Channel Modelling with MATLAB®, Second Edition and older version of book "Optical Wireless Communications System and Channel Modelling with MATLAB" By Z. Ghassemlooy, W. Popoola, S. Rajbhandari. Another older book for matlab optical models can be Simulation of Optical Communication Systems Using MATLAB by Kheng Heng Chew Nanyang Technological University, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2000 For technical aspects visit Optical Fiber Communications: principles and practice" by J M Senior and M Yousif Jamro.

Sir thank you so much for such a nice and kind response I want someone to help me to simulate me a project for visible light communication in which I want to send some data by visible white light for which we have to use 4 LEDs of different colors (R,G,B,and Y) on transmitter side while four photodiodes on receiver side and WDM and OFDM techniques are used in this case. So if you can help me please sir do respond me I shall be very thank ful to you.
